The demand for polished flooring is growing; it is tough and durable, utilises the existing substrate and looks outstanding.
Traditionally creating a good looking, long lasting polished floor has been messy, complicated and often time consuming. Addex however, have developed UltraFloor, which has proven to be a superior solution to anything else on the market. Ultrafloor is a process based system best able to fulfil the growing demand for a high quality and cost effective finish, satisfying both the end user and the professional contractor in both the domestic and commercial environments.
The full UltraFloor process including all machinery, densifiers, grouts and sealers has been tried and tested against stringent quality standards. All elements of the process have been analysed, formulated and selected to work together guaranteeing the desired fished look. An essential standard for architects, contractors and end-users alike.
Ultrafloor is suitable for Concrete, Terrazzo, Natural stone, polishable overlays and micro top finishes and will produce excellent results when polishing on Ardex and Mapei overlayment screeds. If a floor has a defective damp proof membrane, no membrane at all, oil contamination, or is not suitable to take a coating it can in most circumstances still be polished and a suitable Ultrafloor solution can be recommended.
When using the endorsed Ultrafloor machinery (predominately WerkMaster TM) no specific edge work is required, unless intricate detail work is essential, as WerkMaster machines all work to within 2-5mm of any wall or surface. This, coupled with the efficiency of the WerkMaster range can save up to 40% on labour costs.
The process of polishing the majority of substrates and utilising the UltraFloor system is very simple, starting with courser tooling to expose the aggregate, then honing the floor to close the pores of the substrate, then polishing until the desired sheen is achieved. When finished to ensure longevity of life, Ultraguard is applied and providing it is correctly maintained a floor has been created that will last the lifetime of the substrate.
Ultrafloor has utilised the WerkMaster range of floor grinding machines, all of which can uniquely grind, sand, strip, buff, burnish, polish, and edge to within 1/8” (3 mm) of the wall – 7 machines in one. The only decision that needs to be made is choosing the appropriate sized machine for the job – from polishing kitchen worktops to a 10,000 metre plus floor. The two technologies that has enabled this breakthrough are firstly the use of eight counter rotating discs (conventionally single/ double head or planetary machines have been used) and secondly simple to use ‘plug in tooling’, that can easily be changed per application- giving each machine full versatility. Furthermore all machines are compatible with the MaxVac range of vacuums making floor grinding a virtually dust free process.
The final step is how to keep the floor looking great and slip free. Ultrafloor have developed an environmentally friendly sealer and cleaning formulations to eliminate high maintenance and surface break down. These formulations ensure stain and etching resistance to acids, wine, coffee, vinegar and other chemicals- plus a slip free formula that exceeds industry standards.
A properly prepared, polished and sealed floor is a valuable investment, either in your home or within a commercial environment. The Ultrafloor solution enables those that use it to enjoy the benefits of having a distinctively beautiful, long lasting, safe, easy to clean and maintain floor.
